Daniel Glazman is doing us all a favor. He has offered to head up maintaining Mozilla Composer development.

Looking at the browsers that come to this site, I know that most of you already know about alternative browsers. The logs here mention Safari, OmniWeb, Konqueror, Camino, Galeon,...

a winter moon
cold and clear
seen
and distant

i reach for you
but not with my hand

i reach for you
i do not know how

you glow
but do not smile broadly

a smile whose fire is within
is what you show

I was looking at my friend Andrew’s site. And, I read that post of his about a mechanical hippocampus. And the fact that it was implanted successfully back into a living organism.

It so brings the ethics of defining sentience to mind. I buy that we are not this crude matter, but how is our car...

— Act 1 – Scene 1 —
At Rise: Valerie is at home taking care of her plants. She waters a few of them with a sprayer humming thoughtlessly. She takes down a hanging potted plant and brings it to a coffee table to prune it.

Look at what happened here. I don’t believe this. Hasn’t Paige been...

As I mentioned to Matt in the other post, I am detailing why I wound up with b2evolution instead of WordPress. Let me make it clear first, that there was only 1 deciding factor for me between the 2 (simplicity of upgrade). I did not make my choice over features or anything else. I really like b...

So, over Thanksgiving people talk about lots of things, and it’s probably telling when I list what we talked about, that I spent the holiday with geeks:-Who would play Speed Racer if they made a movie of it?
I suggested Orlando Bloom-Making your wood stove work with wet wood
my trick is to use...

well, for tonight anyway

I just looked at the logs, and I am up to 614 hits a day. That totally floors me, and it speaks to the responsibility that I have set up for myself. Now that all the geeky stuff is out of the way, and all of the old content is up and part of the site, all I have left to do...

So, I did say earlier that WordPress looked easier. Well, I was wrong. As you may be able to tell, I am now running b2evolution. I don’t know what a lot of these extra do-hickies do yet. I promise to let you know when I find out.

As it says at the bottom of this site, it’s “powered by b2.” And, so far, I am loving it. It’s simple, quick, and intuitive. So, since I like it, I figured I should head over to their site and learn about the software. What I found was interesting. B2 has been forked (split up) into a few differen...

When the broadcast room’s a living tomb of cracked acoustic tiles,
And you’re left alone with your microphone and your playlist and your dials,
And the hands upon the studio clock pass midnight, creep towards one…
Then it’s time to take the air once more; the graveyard shift’s begun.

The day...

Olivia just fell asleep…

Tonight, I started reading her Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Do you know who wrote it? Before you decide to google it, let me give you a few hints:

-a car with loads of gadgets
-spies
-and a woman named Truly Scrumptious

You didn’t know Ian Fleming wrote for children, did...

Okay! Now, my mind is totally blown. This is the 3rd time that I happenned to check the usage log only to find that I have hit a new record. Now, I have a question. If nearly 600 people are here everyday, why aren’t any of you posting back?

Come on, say something!

To say this has been a pet project “for some time” doesn’t really do it justice. The earliest drafts that I have specifically along these lines are over 10 years old. The oldest piece of it has young Percival waking from a dream and feeling that he has got to find Gawain, who he has only seen around...

This is my retelling of Percival as the Grail winner. I have used references from Gawain and Ragnell, the Lais, Parzival, Excalibur, and The Winter King. This has been a pet project for many years.

Can I promise that this is the last time I will redesign the site? No.

Andrew showed me this blog program. And, I have spent so much time reading code recently, that it seemed simple to configure (imagine that). So, first, I used it to replace the news page. Then, later it hit me that I could put...
